I have 2 of these to create a gigabit network in my house for video transmition and for my Network storage. One is the original version and the other is a later version. Both are running great for more than 2 years. This is the best deal in town on a gigabit switch. Only note is they must have air ciculation to stay cool.
I've got two of these, running for several months now. Not a single problem.
It is my favorite color (blue). The case on the Trendnet is more solid.
The Dlink was running way hot, especially as my cat loved to sleep on top of it. I bought this one to replace a Dlink gigabit switch in my home network.
So the cat doesn't sleep on it as often. It died, no doubt because of the heat.
This one is still warm, but not nearly as hot. It is quiet (fanless).
And it has 8 fast gigabit ports and is very affordable.
For a small network this switch is a dream. Full level-2 switch, so it easily allows multiple, very high speed point-to-point connections without slowdown or packet collisions. Very well built with a sturdy metal housing. Would highly recommend.
After 10 minutes someone will tell they will call you right back which never happens. I have had this product for about a week and so far it has yet to work as anticipated. I have called tech support twice and waited for approximately 30 minutes to no avail. If you call back and complain you will spend the rest of your life on hold. Don't waste your time or money, it is a dud.
